3. SOCIETY PROFILE
The Polish Acoustical
Society is an association of physical persons and institutions dealing with
acoustics.
The Polish Acoustical Society is a member of international organisations associating
acoustical societies.
The tasks of the Polish Acoustical Society are:
- developing of acoustics with full consideration to its branches and related
domains,
- popularisation of acoustics with special attention to problems of high importance
for science, culture, economy and environment protection,
- organising meetings, conferences and scientific courses,
- promoting scientific research and activity of people working creatively
in the realm of acoustics and related domains,
- co-operation with centres and institutions interested in using knowledge
and scientific achievements in acoustic domain,
- publishing scientific journals and other related journals and papers.
The Polish Acoustical
Society is composed of:
- honorary members,
- ordinary members,
- extraordinary members,
- studying members,
- sustaining members.
Authorities of the
Polish Acoustical Society are:
- General Meeting of Delegates,
- Main Board,
- Main Revisory Commission,
- Collegiate Court of Arbitration.
The Polish Acoustical Society is divided into departments appointed by the Main Board of PAS. At present, there are seven departments of the Polish Acoustical Society. Within the Polish Acoustical Society are acting permanent sections in the chosen branches of acoustics.
