3. SOCIETY PROFILE
The Danish Acoustical Society (DAS) was founded in 1955.
Objectives according to our bylaws are ”to promote and propagate nationally the knowledge of acoustics and its practical application, and to establish national and international contact between people interested in acoustics, especially including cooperation with corresponding Scandinavian organizations”.
During the year 2005 DAS established technical committees on the topics: Acoustical Communication, Electroacoustics, Building and Room Acoustics, Machinery Acoustics and Environmental Acoustics.
Activities of Danish Acoustical Society includes the organization every 8 years of the Nordic Acoustical Meeting and annual a national ”Day of Acoustics”
Information is sent to all members of DAS by surface mail, e-mail and through web www.d-a-s.dk.
The Danish Acoustical Society has not any regular publications, with exception of the Nordic Acoustical Meeting Conference papers.
